"Good Hair vs Bad Hair"
For this piece I was inspired by the controversial topic within the Black Community, Good Hair vs Bad Hair". Good hair is associated with black people with softer, looser-curled, manageable hair. Bad hair is described as extremely curly/wavy. It is also described as "nappy" and "kinky" and unmanageable. I wanted to showcase the beauty of both hair textures. Overall, I wanted to ultimately break the stigma of black peoples' hair and actually celebrate it.
